Order of the Phoenix
Chestnut Thoroughbred gelding
Order of the Phoenix, a TB gelding born in 2010, has competed twice at beginner novice this fall, each with faultless cross-country rounds. He's an incredibly handsome, eye-catching gelding who loves to jump and has the movement to be a star on the flat.
Besides being strong and handsome, Order of the Phoenix has a tremendously workmanlike and kind temperament. He loves to learn and always wants to be good, so he's an easy horse to be around. (Yes, he happily hacks, ships, clips, braids, etc.) In 11 months, he went from his last race to finishing 5th in his second BN start. He's in full work and ready to go novice now.
Click here for a RideOn video of his cross-country round at Fresno in October.
Come try Order of the Phoenix at Phoenix Farm (Healdsburg, CA) today. Call or email John Strassburger (707-217-5072 / email@example.com.)

Recently Sold Horses!
Bay Throughbred gelding
Congratualtions to Renae!
“Fire” is a lovely horse offered regretfully for sale through no fault of his own. He has evented through the Novice level, but has spent the last year as a teacher for a new rider. He is an athletic and talented individual, with talent to go up the levels, but he is equally happy acting as a teacher at the lower levels. Straightforward to ride on the flat and over fences, rock-steady to hack in all circumstances, easy to have in the barn.
Gray Thoroughbred Gelding
Congratulations to the Johnson Family!
This is a unique opportunity to work with a millionaire racehorse, who has a stakes race named after him in Santa Anita and raced in Dubai and Hong Kong. Eddie won over a million dollars on the race track, and is just special in every way. This horse retired from the track in 2005 and evented at Novice in 2006, then was sold and fell through the cracks a bit until 2012 when he came in to the hands of a benefactor who wants to get him in to a good home where he can excel. Eddie is sound, clean legged, and as fancy and athletic as you'd expect such a succesful athlete to be--don't let his age fool you, he had a lot of years left. He is currently doing training/first level dressage, jumping small courses, and hacking out alone and in company. He'd be ready to go to a show immediately--and is suitable for any of the Olympic disciplines.
Chestnut Hanoverian Gelding
Congrats to the Hill Family!
Regretfully offered for sale: 5 year old unregistered Hanoverian gelding (Pablo/Pik Solo lines). This is a lovely, legitimate prospect for the upper levels, or for an ambitious amateur. Huge mover, world-class jump, in your pocket puppy dog personality. Kind, quiet, and eager to please, he is a joy to work with. Great feet (currently barefoot) and bone, raised on rolling grass hills so is sensible and sure-footed. I have cervical instability, and it is not going to heal enough to allow me to ride a horse that moves and jumps as big as this one. He is really special, and is only offered for sale due to my physical issues. In 2014, he finished 6th in the OBN at the Twin Rivers C.T (and schooled the Novice XC) and finished 10th at the Woodside HT in the OBN, with no jumping penalties, then went on to finish 4th in the OBN at Shepherd Ranch with another clean cross-country round!
Bay Thoroughbred Gelding
Congratulations to Jazmin.
Fable is the ultimate first event horse. He has taken three juniors to their first events, and competed through Training level with scope for more. Kind, quiet, and point and shoot to the jumps, he loves his job and is ready to teach his next rider the ropes of eventing. In 2012 he showed his versatility by winning at Beginner Novice with his junior rider, and was Reserve Champion at Training Level and Dressage Equitation winner at the CDS Junior Championships in 2012. He could also show in the jumpers. Ideal for a junior, amateur, or Pony Clubber. Leads, clips, bathes, loads, easy in every way.
The Lone Centurion
Red roan QHx gelding
Congrats to Barbara!
Rory is the ideal mount for someone who wants a companion that can show one weekend, trail ride on the beach the next. He is a friendly, funny horse, with three very correct gaits, and a scopey jump. Suitable for an amateur or a junior, and could do lower level eventing, dressage, or show jumpers. He has shown at a several local Combined Tests and never placed worse than 2nd, and took his current owner to her first dressage shows. Comfortable and straightforward to ride, he is suitable for a newer rider looking for a safe horse, or a more expereinced looking for a fun, simple horse to bring along. Has also worked cattle. Sadly for sale through no fault of his own. Lease-to-purchase option considered to approved home and trainer.
17.0-hand, dark bay Thoroughbred-cross gelding by Reputed Testamony out of Calypso.
Congratulations to The Cooks and Los Altos Hunt! Gorgeous, fancy, athletic and easy—all these words describe this lovely son of top eventing sire Reputed Testamony. The dam has consistently thrown great brains, and “Ianto” combines a wonderfully easy-going personality with three lovely gaits and wonderful uphill balance. Easy to handle on the ground—they don’t come sweeter, or easier, than Ianto. Will be the ideal mount for a junior or amateur (a job performed by two of his siblings already). Update: Ianto is officiall a show horse! He's attended two combined tests, winning one of them, and placed 7th in the Beginner Novice at Ram Tap. Price will go up with results like these. Snap him up now!
Phoenix Phinale15.3 hand, hestnut, unregistered Hanoverian filly by Panzyr (Pablo) out of Ballista (Batido)
Sold! Cngratulations to Victoria!
This typey, flashy filly is smart, sensible, and the sweetest girl you can imagine. With three excellent, lofty and balanced gaits, and a leggy, modern build, she promises to be everything you could want, and more! She has the movement for a pure dressage career, but the bravery and athleticism to end up in one of the jumping disciplines. Snap up a "champagne" prospect on a "beer" budget!
17.0-hand, dark bay Thoroughbred-cross gelding
Congratulations to Cynthia!
"Toby" is a lovely youngster started by Phoenix Farm, who is ready to find a fun new home. Imported from Canada as a weanling, this gentle boy has been raised in a family environment, and has the kind, unflappable temperament to show for it. He was started under saddle as a late three-year-old, and after a winter off was put in to serious work this spring. He is currently doing basic flat work and jumping small courses, and will begin attending schooling shows shortly. He is light and forward to ride, but absolutely grounded and sensible, with a bold and scopey jump. Though green, he is completely suitable to be brought along by a junior or amateur, and would excell in eventing, jumpers, or in the hunting field. Great to hack as well. Come snatch him up, and be having all the fun come summer! Toby comes with a full set of digital x-rays. UPDATE: Toby attended his first schooling show a combined test where he finished 2nd on his dressage score of 35.5. His behavior was perfect, and he was the charmer of the show. This horse is special!
17.0 hand bay Thoroughbred gelding
Congratulations to Brooke and Jennifer!
This is a tough one to list for sale, as we hadn't wanted to sell him. But, we've got a pack of keeper homebreds coming up, and finances dictate someone has to go. "Sisko" is a legitimate upper level prospect in eventing, currently competing prelim, with talent for much more. He also has the style and scope to be an interesting prospect for the hunter or jumper ring--especially the hunter derbies. He is priced faily low for his talent and training, because we know the right match will be essential. He is not a horse suited for an inexpereinced rider, and he will need a barn that offers year round turnout. He is not the easiest horse, but he is worth it. This horse presents a remarkable opportunity for an ambitious, talented rider in either the eventing, or hunter/jumper world. We are open to an on-site lease, and reasonable offers to the perfect situation witll be considered.
