Firebolt
9-year-old
15.1 hand
Liver chestnut Appendix Quarter Horse mare
$25,000
Did you fall in love with Headley Brittania, winner of the
2009 Rolex Kentucky CCI****? Then don’t miss Alba. Alba
shows tremendous promise and athleticism, possessing three
gorgeous gaits that will be competitive in any ring, plenty
of step and stride, and an out-of-this-world jump. Don't
let her size fool you: This mare has talent to burn, and
it's coupled with an excellent work ethic--she will be a
serious competitor at a very high level. Excellent to hack,
both alone and in company, and a dream to handle on the
ground. She made her eventing debutin 2009, and moved up
quickly--she has never had a cross-country jumping penalty.
Small adults and juniors take note--this mare will be
amazing for someone who has big dreams and a small budget!
She deserves to be someone’s special girl. Currently
competing at Preliminary, with dressage scores in the high
30s, and awesome jumping rounds. She sucessfuly debuted at
Ram Tap with a clean cross-country jumping round at Ram
Tap. Don't mind the time penalties; John's glasses and the
Ram Tap fog didn't mix well, but she was a total star.
After getting rained out of her secondstart at Twin, she
went to Galways where she jumped a brilliant clean xc with
just 2.8 time. This mare is the real deal!

Manitoba
4-year-old,
17.0-hand, dark bay Thoroughbred-cross gelding
$12,000 (offers)
"Toby" is a lovely youngster started by Phoenix Farm, who
is ready to find a fun new home. Imported from Canada as a
weanling, this gentle boy has been raised in a family
environment, and has the kind, unflappable temperament to
show for it. He was started under saddle as a late
three-year-old, and after a winter off was put in to
serious work this spring. He is currently doing basic flat
work and jumping small courses, and will begin attending
schooling shows shortly. He is light and forward to ride,
but absolutely grounded and sensible, with a bold and
scopey jump. Though green, he is completely suitable to be
brought along by a junior or amateur, and would excell in
eventing, jumpers, or in the hunting field. Great to hack
as well. Come snatch him up, and be having all the fun come
summer! Toby comes with a full set of digital x-rays.
UPDATE: Toby attended his first schooling show a combined
test where he finished 2nd on his dressage score of 35.5.
His behavior was perfect, and he was the charmer of the
show. This horse is special!

chesnut Hanoverian/Oldenburg colt by Panzyr out of Phaedra
(xPik Solo)
$10,000.
Riding photos are of his sire, Panzyr, who was started by
Phoenix Farm at three years of age.
”Piper” just takes your breath away--bright chestnut, with
tons of chrome, he already has that certain something that
says, “Look at me!” He has the type and bloodlines for
dressage, but he should also excel as an eventer or jumper.
Sire is currently in training with Phoenix Farms and
consistently amazes us with his kind, workmanlike demeanor
and his easy and breath-taking jump. Piper’s looks will
capture you, but it’s his in-your-pocket personality that
will make you fall in love with him.

Super
Elegant
Chestnut and White Pony of the America gelding
13.2 hands
Congratulations to the Kaufman Family!
“Howie” is a wonderful, versatile pony looking for his next
student. He is a specialist in dressage, having qualified
for and ribboned at the CDS Junior Championships at
Training level in 2006 and 2007 with scores in the
mid-60’s. He also contributed to a winning pony team effort
in 2007, and top placed Pas De Deux in 2006. He is
currently schooling shoulder-in, traverre, leg yield and
walk pirouettes, and has the movement and ability to
compete at a higher level. Howie also jumps, and has
competed in local hunter/jumper shows (champion of a local
series in both hunters and jumpers), and a few horse trials
at beginner novice. He has also earned several POAC
medallions for Endurance riding, and is an experienced Pony
Club mount. This special pony has been sadly outgrown, and
reasonable offers will be considered to an excellent and
loving home.

Apollo
16.1 hand
Bay Oldenburg gelding
Congratulations to Kate!
Update:
Apollo does it again--two horse trials, two ribbons, zero
jumping penalties! He follows up his great showing at
Woodside (see below) with a sixth place finish at Ram Tap.
He now heads for the Beginner Novice Championships in
November (Update:
Apollo finished 4th!)!
This charming horse will be the junior/amateur packer of
your barn. He is just starting in to serious work, but he
has one of the best brains we’ve ever seen. Three good
gaits, excellent natural balance and a super cute jump
complete the picture. Green, but just about anyone can ride
him. In training as an eventer, but would also excel as a
hunter or dressage horse. Apollo took second his first time
out in the Open Beginner Novice division at the Woodside
Horse Trials. He finished on his dressage score with two
clear jumping rounds. He has continued to amaze us with his
unflappable demeanor and generous nature. You do not want
to miss this one!

Waltzing
Matilda
15.0 hand
Buckskin Registered BS Paint mare (Registered name: Diamond
Bar Zee)
Congratulations to Emma!
If
you want a horse that can do a bit of everything, but with
a bit more quality than most, then Matilda is the girl for
you. She’s a jumping machine, who is great across country,
and is a great mover as well. Anyone can take her on the
trails alone or in company. She attended her first jumper
show and came home with ribbons. Pony Clubbers, small
adults, this girl will make your dreams come true. Easy
keeper, goes barefoot (our farrier says she has the best
feet he’s ever seen) plus, she’s adorable! Also goes
western and is a proven broodmare (granddaughter of the
famed Zippo Pine Bar). Update: Matilda maintains a perfect
cross-country record--3 double-clear rounds at Ram Tap
October, Galway, and Ram Tap November. She finished out the
year by finishing second at Ram Tap November on her
dressage score. She is ready to be your next
star!
Dallas
15.3 hand
Bay Thoroughbred gelding
Congratulations to Hannah!
Dallas may come in a plain brown wrapper, but there is a
lot of talent here that should not be missed. Huge step,
bold, scopey jump, and three excellent gaits—he’s ready to
go and do. He was sixth at the Twin Rivers Combined Test,
and schooled the XC great, jumping everything at first
asking. He's green, but would suit an ambitious AA or
junior. A total pet on the ground looking for someone to
have fun with.

Seeker
16.2 hand
Bay Thoroughbred cross by Quartermaster AA out of Calypso
Congratulations to Kyana!
Seeker is a full brother to Cruiser (see below under sold
horses) and is proving to be just as special. He should
mature about 16.3 hands, and looks to be slightly lighter
and leggier than his older brother, promising a big future
career. Kind, sensible, sweet, and fun, this cross creates
the ultimate amateur horse for any discipline—with a little
more ability than most. He was 4th in his first outing at
the Twin RIvers Combined Test, and schooled the cross
country like an old pro. He simply never puts a foot wrong.
We are currently teaching lessons on him, and he will make
his eventing debut at Ram Tap. You simply won't find a
better brain anywhere.
Update:
Seeker WON his first outing, taking home the blue in the
open beginner novice at Ram Tap with John in the irons.
We're so proud of him!

Allegra
16.2 hand
Bay Swedish Warmblood mare by Conquistador (HOL) out of a
Zorn mare
Congratulations to Sydnee!
Every once in a while you encounter a horse who just takes
your breath away. Allegra is one of those. A ten mover, a
ten jumper, and a pedigree full of performance, she is the
embodiment of the modern event horse. Forward, light, and
bold to her jumps, she will excel in a performance career,
and then become the foundation of a top class breeding
program. She'll make her competitive debut at Ram Tap in
the Novice, and her price will increase with experience, so
pick her up now at a bargain price. To ride her, is to love
her. Pictures don't do her justice.
Update:
Allegra finished 3rd in an extremely competitive Open
Novice division with John Michael in the irons. This will
be a serious horse for the future!

Zoey
16.0 hand
Bay Dutch Warmblood-Thoroughbred cross mare by Maximum
Clearance out of Zofia by Saluut II
Congratulations to Mireya!
If blood tells, then big things are in store for Zoey. Her
sire and grandsire are multiple Grand Prix winners, and her
mother was both a winning preliminary jumper and regional
equitation finals winner. Her half brother Jet Star (by
Quick Star out of Zofia) is winning at the Grand Prix
level, and was the 2003 Western Young Jumper 6-year-old
champion. Zoey herself is still green, but is smart and
bold, and has proven herself trainable and talented. Her
blood and scope says "jumper" but her bold attitude and
good movement screams eventer. She has a ten brain, and is
good for kids, adults, and pros a like. Snap her up now,
and be winning next spring. UPDATE: Zoey finished 8th at
her first BN event at November Ram Tap with only 90 days
under saddle! She was quiet, focused, and perfectly behaved
all weekend!

Winter’s Fable
15.3 hand
Bay Thoroughbred gelding by Wintry Oak out of Murphy Brown
by Jet Murmur
Congratulations Claire!
“Fable” is a special little guy who is sure to win your
heart. He is bred for eventing (both his parents were
successful competitors, and he carries the bloodlines of
two great eventing dynasties: Chesterland Farms and
Tamarack Hill farm), but has the style and look to be
successful in the show ring. He has great feet and bone,
three correct gaits, and a big sweet eye. He is brave,
sensible, and quiet. Placed third at his first Beginner
Novice (Ram Tap April), completed his first Novice with a
double-clear cross country round (Woodside May), and
finished third in a very competitive Open Novice division
at Woodside August. Point and shoot to the jumps, and a joy
to hack and handle.

Protege
17.0 hand
Bay Thoroughbred gelding
Congratulations to Emily!
His barn name is Gus, but it might as well be "insurance
policy." This big, handsome gentleman is the ideal horse
for a first time owner, amateur or junior rider looking for
someone to show them the ropes. He has hunted as both a
staff horse and a field horse (all flights) with Red Rock
Hounds, and proven himself an excellent competitor and
teacher in the show jumping ring at 3'6. He has been used
as a school horse and baby sitter for beginners going over
their first cross rails, and novices attending their first
hunts, but has the talent, power, and scope to be a fun
horse for a rider with a bit more skill. Easy to handle, a
joy on the trail. Started his eventing career this fall
finishing 9th in the Novice at the August Woodside with a
foot-perfect, double-clear cross-country round. Reliable in
all situations.

Wheaties
15.1 hand
Buckskin Connemara cross gelding
Congratulations to Alandra!
Wheaties is a lovely horse looking for a partner who loves
jumping as much as he does. This adorable guy has three
good gaits, and is a jumping machine. Jumped clean around
one novice HT and is looking for someone to continue his
career. He has scope to burn, and though currently green on
the flat, shows great potential to get big scores. Brave
and bold to his fences, and an absolute joy to hack out, he
is will easily compete through the CCI* level, or be a top
class show jumper. His ideal match is a child or small
adult who wants to go up the levels, and likes a horse with
a natural engine and forward way of going. Wheaties has
also been a loaner horse for Pony Club and would be very
suitable for that environment. Wheaties recently completed
a Novice at Rap Tap (2/16/07). His dressage score reflected
his greenness in that phase, but he had a clean cross
country round, and one unlucky rail in show jumping. He is
ready to go and compete now.

Cruiser
17-hand, bay Thoroughbred cross by Quartermaster AA out of
Calypso
Congratulations to Lindsay, Skyler, and jack on the
purchase of Cruiser!
"Cruiser”
is more Labrador Retriever than equine. Cruiser loves
everybody, especially people with food and who scratch his
head. A total charmer, Cruiser is that fun horse that you
can do anything with. A pleasure to ride and train, his
sweet personality, unflappable nature, and kind manner make
him a joy to be with on a daily basis.
